VENDOR-NEUTRAL BUYER GUIDE · 100-POINT SCORECARD

Compare WhatsApp API providers with evidence, not feature claims

Use this weighted checklist to evaluate total cost, account control, team workflows, automation, reliability, and support before signing a contract.

This worksheet does not certify or endorse any provider. Award points only when a claim is supported by a contract, product documentation, account access, or a live demonstration.

Two illuminated evaluation paths converge on a decision compass, representing evidence-based WhatsApp API provider comparison.

HOW TO USE IT

Make every vendor prove the same workflow

Prepare one realistic scenario with the same users, recipient markets, message categories, integrations, and support requirements. Ask every vendor to demonstrate it, then score only the evidence you can verify.

01

Define the operating scenario

List countries, monthly delivered volume, agents, roles, broadcasts, automations, CRM, support hours, and migration needs.

02

Request one itemised proposal

Separate platform subscription, Meta message charges, seats, credits, setup, taxes, add-ons, and checkout currency.

03

Test the complete workflow

Include onboarding, templates, delivery logs, agent handoff, automation failure, reporting, escalation, and export.

04

Keep the written evidence

Record the document URL, contract clause, demo date, owner, limitation, and last-checked date for each point awarded.

ASK IN THE SALES CALL

Seven questions that create comparable answers

Send these before the demo. Ask for the answer in writing and request live proof when the claim affects cost, control, or daily operations.

  1. 01

What will we pay in our actual recipient markets after platform fees, Meta charges, users, credits, tax, setup, and add-ons?

  2. 02

Which account, number, data, templates, and automation assets can our business access and export during the contract and after exit?

  3. 03

Can the demo reproduce our complete workflow, including one failure, one escalation, and one human handoff?

  4. 04

Which features, support channels, limits, and integrations are included in the quoted plan, and which require another charge?

  5. 05

Where can administrators see delivery status, error detail, usage, roles, audit history, and changes made by agents or automations?

  6. 06

What is the implementation plan, named owner, escalation path, and written response target for an incident?

  7. 07

What happens if we migrate: timeline, dependencies, downtime risk, export format, assistance, and final fees?

COMPARE THE COMMERCIAL LAYER

Model Meta charges separately from the provider plan

Meta message charges depend on recipient pricing market and message category. Provider subscriptions, users, automation, support, taxes, and add-ons are a separate layer. Keep both visible so two proposals remain comparable.

BUYER FAQ

Provider comparison questions

Concise answers for procurement, marketing, support, and operations teams preparing a shortlist.

What is a good score for a WhatsApp API provider?

A score of 70 or more indicates that most weighted claims have evidence, but the threshold is not a guarantee of fit. Change the practical threshold when a criterion is irrelevant or business-critical.

Should every provider quote the same Meta message charge?

Meta’s underlying charge is based on the recipient pricing market and message category. Provider subscriptions, credits, markups, users, taxes, and services can differ, so ask for separate line items.

How should official platform access be verified?

Ask the vendor to explain and demonstrate the onboarding path, account access, contractual responsibility, and official Meta setup. Verify public or contractual claims independently instead of relying on a badge or sales statement alone.

What should a live product demo include?

Use your own workflow: send or simulate a message, assign it, trigger automation, fail one step, hand the conversation to a person, review logs, and export the resulting data.

Can this checklist be used for India and Australia?

Yes. The operational criteria stay the same. Model the country-specific recipient-market costs separately, then apply the same evidence score to each shortlisted provider.
